Weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly? Here's how to match a cleaning schedule to how your household actually lives — without paying for visits you don't need.
The most common question we get on an estimate call isn't about price — it's about frequency. People want to know whether they need us every week, every other week, or once a month. The honest answer is that it depends far less on the size of your home than on how many people live in it and how the space actually gets used.
A bi-weekly schedule is the right answer for most households. Two weeks is roughly how long a home takes to go from clean to visibly needing attention: bathrooms start to show water spots, kitchen floors pick up traffic, and dust becomes noticeable on flat surfaces. Cleaning at that interval means each visit is maintenance rather than recovery, which keeps the work — and the price — predictable.
Weekly makes sense when the household generates more than an average amount of daily mess. Families with young children, homes with multiple pets, anyone cooking full meals most nights, or households where someone works from home all day fall into this group. If you find yourself doing significant cleanup between visits just to keep things comfortable, weekly is probably where you belong.
Monthly works for smaller households — couples, single professionals, empty nesters, second homes — where daily use is light and the occupants already tidy as they go. The important thing to understand about monthly service is that four weeks of buildup takes longer to clear than two, so a monthly visit is usually a longer visit. It isn't half the cost of bi-weekly.
Whatever frequency you choose, we'd suggest starting with a deep clean. Recurring visits are designed to maintain a standard, not establish one. If a home hasn't had professional attention in a while, that first deep clean resets grout, appliance interiors, vents, and baseboards — and every recurring visit after it becomes shorter, easier, and more consistent.
One more practical note: you're not locked in. Plenty of our clients in Crystal Lake, Cary, and Algonquin run bi-weekly through the school year and switch to weekly over the summer, or add a deep clean before the holidays. Tell us what's changed and we adjust the schedule.
